The Agents Licensing Section is responsible for the regulation of the insurance industry relative to agents, adjusters, agencies, counselors, subagents and surplus lines brokers licensed in the State of Georgia.

Effective August 30, 2010, the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Agents Licensing Division changed the address for mailing in filings with payments. The new payment mailing address is:

ATTENTION: The address change is for applications processed by the Georgia Dept of Insurance only – it does not impact those applications processed by Pearson VUE (Renewals, Agency Applications)
Effective January 1, 2010, all new resident applicants, excluding active licensees and individuals that apply for reinstatement within 6 months of expiration date, shall be required to submit electronic fingerprints through a vendor selected by the Department for a criminal background check.
