The Agents Licensing Section is responsible for the regulation of the insurance industry relative to agents, adjusters, agencies, counselors, subagents and surplus lines brokers licensed in the State of Georgia.
The Licensing Section is also responsible for the licensure, maintenance and renewal of resident and nonresident agents, adjusters, agencies, continuing education providers, courses and instructors, counselors, limited subagents, pre-licensing education providers and instructors, staff adjusters and surplus lines brokers.
Effective January 1, 2010, all new resident applicants, excluding active licensees and individuals that apply for reinstatement within 6 months of expiration date, shall be required to submit electronic fingerprints through a vendor selected by the Department for a criminal background check.
